for Free Climbers: climbing on Garda
Lake, Valpolicella The lake is well known to free climbers for its natural and plunging
rocks. From Malerba
del Garda , Garda , Marciaga, Toscolano Maderno, Gargnano,
Campione, Limone, Torbole, Nago down to the
Valpolicella’s Sant’Ambrogio. In Arco, where the international climbing contest of Rock Master takes
place in September, you’ll find everything you might miss in your equipment
at the local climbing shop. There are a lot of climbing routes from single
pitch to 300m long in a wide range of grades. In a superb pre-alp scenery,
climbing is possible almost all year, altough the best time is spring and
autumn. The most popular crags are quite crowded: Massone, San Siro, Nago,
Passo S. Giovanni, but they offer so many climbing routes that everyone
has space enough. If you are looking for grades between 4 and 6a Stallavena near
Verona and Marciaga near the village Garda are a good choice, with
enough routes for many days. Most of the best crags are located less than half of an hour drive from Arco, having or renting a car is highly recommended.
Gardayou Travel Guide Best walls in Lake Garda Here is a list of wonderful
walls and crags to climb : -
Climbing Belvedere Nago:
The rock face is located just above the town of Nago, on the main road to Arco,
in a very scenic area. -

The rock face is at Prabi (5 minutes on foot), in front of the municipal

continue on foot until the road ends. Further on there is a trail (blue signs
first, followed by red) and the rock wall is a short 5 minute hike from here.
San Paolo climbing trail: take the road to the foot of Monte Colodri,
about 100 meters further up from the Zoo Camping area. The base of the routes
is a further 5 minutes on. -
Spiaggia delle Lucertole:
This is a historical rock face located near the Corno di Bo slabs. The rock
face is at the exit of the second tunnel from Torbole, on the right side,
surrounding the lake. -

Marmitte dei giganti: to get there, leave the town of Nago in
the direction of Torbole and park the car on the panoramic view point on the

roccia". Artificial Trail (inside Camping Arco): This indoor
practise crag (Boulder Room) is located at the Arco campground at Prabi, and
